I think this qualifies as a service saga!
I dropped my wristwatch on the bathroom floor last November, and it stopped working. No surprise there.
I took it to the shop I bought it from in the Regent Arcade and arranged for it to be sent for repair….. again, straight forward.
Having been promised a quote, after three weeks I had to call to get said estimate. I was informed that it would still be a couple of weeks but would have the watch in time for Christmas.
Guess what? Watch not ready for Christmas, so I had to call to find out. OK, so I wait until January, in fact late January before I called them again. “It will be here tomorrow”…. really?
So, I make a trip to town after work on the saturday and collect the watch, 12 weeks after I left it with them. A poor turnaround time I think and I am no watch repairer.
I set the time for 3.45pm and left the store. Guess what? An hour later it still said 3.45pm.
I took it back and yes, it was still broken. I am, as you know a placid man, but I was a bit ticked off at this. I hate poor service.
So off it went again with protestations that it would have its progress followed etc. I had to make many more calls over the next few weeks and finally picked up my repaired watch early March. Four months. Unbelievable!!!
